Hi everybody I’m Mike and I’m DUCK rep for Trevelyan college for this academic year (2012-2013).

I’m really fortunate to be taking over at a college as generous and enthusiastic as Trevs. After years of amazing results our college has truly secured its reputation as a “Small college with a big heart”, this was further confirmed in 2012 as we made a clean sweep of all the awards at the annual DUCK awards, a feat we aim to repeat this year!

The outstanding work from Trevs DUCK comm is complemented by the brilliant support from every single member of the college. Last year alone we averaged £48.30 per person within Trevs, a truly staggering figure which exemplifies the wholehearted mindset which Trevelyan students apply to everything they do.

In Michaelmas term Trevs are going hard, hitting the ground running with by sending over 35 students to “Project Ten Grand”- a RAG-raid to both London and Edinburgh simultaneously, with the aim of raising over ten thousand pounds for Oxfam.

Alongside this keep an eye out for DUCK WEEKEND- 23rd-25th November:

23rd November- DUCK Dare Night

DUCK dare night allows people to see how far they really are willing to go for charity, a large variety of dares, some tame... some... a little less tame. If you’re the kind of guy/girl who is willing to lick a stranger’s face for a good cause, then this is for you. Enter in teams, the group with the most completed dares and the highest money raised will receive a prize. Up there as one of the most hilarious nights of the term

24th November- Hold the Bar
A contest not for the faint hearted, testing the metaphorical balls of anyone willing to take part. Challenges in the past include eating a cake containing dog food, kissing a member of the same sex with a chilli in your mouth, and having a shot of fish sauce. Champions of this event go down in history, their names passed through generation after generation of Trevelyan College students. An event not to be missed, whether you’re taking part, or simply enjoying the spectacle.

25th November- DUCK Auction
This event has something for everybody. The DUCK Auction has many different lots, from the ever elusive Klute t-shirt that you may have missed out on, to a month of washing done for you and carried to your room. You can have a slave for a day, or even a massage from one of your fellow students. Popular items in the past include tickets to Hatfield Formal, Trevs’ cheerleaders at your sports teams event, and a sofa for your landing.

This is just a glimpse of the many events taking place in Trevs this term, if you have any questions or queries you can find me in college, on Facebook or simply hit me up with an email.
