DUCK is not a registered charity. It does not have a charity number. DUCK does raise money for organisations which are charities, though.

Money is raised either in the name of, and for, a specific charity, or in the name of DUCK. This latter portion is divided between charities which apply for it, subject to stringent criteria. Read more about the applications process and how you can apply here.

Our unrestricted fundraising also covers our general running costs, which we endeavour to keep as low as possible. Read up on our policies regarding fundraising costs here: DUCK's Fundraising Costs: Commitment to Best Practice 2010.

Although incorporating the name of Durham University, DUCK is an independent student group which represents the collective fundraising efforts of students and staff at the institution. We are part of the DSU, providing events, marathons, expeditions and millions of other things, along with the opportunity to get involved and gain valuable skills, to members of Durham Students' Union. We fall under the governance of Durham Students' Union, and the DUCK Sabbatical Manager is a Trustee of the DSU.
