After last week’s devastating earthquake in Haiti, we want to do everything we can to raise money for the Red Cross Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Last term we donated a Michaelmas record of £76,961.77 to 60 local, national and international charities – check out all the details on the Charities section of the website!
Hope you all had a great one, and are looking forward to a New Year filled with more exciting DUCK shenanigans than ever before!
Lots of DUCK love xx
Where we can, we raise money which goes straight to a charity- rag raids usually have buckets marked with the name of the charity we're raising for, and events for specific charities will have their details on posters- money raised like this is 100% given straight to the charity.
Some events or buckets are just marked 'DUCK' - this money we collect until the end of year and invite charities to apply for gifts from it. DUCK's expenses are met out of this money.
We want to make DUCK as transparent as possible- read up on our allocation procedure, or get in touch.
TweetsDUCK is Durham University Charities Kommittee, a group of students working together to raise half a million each year for charity.
DUCK 's award winning activities are varied- from raft races down the Wear in Durham, to charity work in Nepalese schools.
